Tweet it **WEEKLY TOP TIP**

You will need…

  • Possibly Post-It notes
  • That’s about it…

How It Works

At the end of a lesson, topic, debate or anything that could be summarised, give the pupils 140 CHARACTERS to sum up their learning as if they were tweeting it! Get pupils to write in their margin ‘Tweet This’ so you can skim through and find their tweets!

Allow pupils to create their own #hashtags and get creative in how they write their tweets. It is an excellent way for pupils to condense their learning into something short and handy that they may remember when it comes to needing it in the future!

Variations

Give pupils a tweet YOU have created and see if they can decipher what the tweet relates to

Get pupils to create a tweet with NO mention of the topic and share their tweets with their peers and see if their classmates can work out the topic!

EXAMPLES:

“Circulatory system is made up of veins, arteries and capillaries moving blood around the body to and from the lungs to oxygenate it #systems”

“Haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry which consists of 3 lines, the first and last have 5 syllables and the middle has 7 #poetry”

Happy Tweeting…!
