3, 2, 1 Plenary

You will need:

  • Learning Objectives
  • 3 Questions from your lesson

How it works

At the end of your lesson, pupils have to answer questions you pose with either 3,2  or 1 answers based on knowledge they have acquired from your lesson.

For example:

List 3 causes for WW2
Describe 2 effects it had on the German Economy
Explain 1 way WW2 could have been prevented

The use of Bloom’s Taxonomy can help to differentiate this task across all learners. Using the first few stems can make this activity a lot easier and using the last few stems will make it a lot more challenging.


  • You could make this activity competitive and create a debate from answers
  • Differentiate through the use of Blooms Taxonomy
